A short story of Caca Bey
Nureddin Cibril Bin Cacabey, from whom we take our name, was a forward-thinking Turkish statesman who founded a madrasa (observatory) teaching astronomy in the 13th century.

An Astronomy School in the 13th Century
Caca Bey, believed to have been born in Çorum in 1240, served as Emir (Governor) of Kırşehir during the reign of Sultan III. Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev of the Anatolian Seljuk Empire. Caca Bey, who died in 1301 during a battle with Byzantine forces (Rum tekfurs), is known not only as an astronomer but also as a mathematician.
